Bible Buddies

When: Wednesday nights Time: 5:30-6:35 PM Ages: Pre-Kindergarten – 5th Grade Duration: Labor Day through the end of March
So what is “Bible Buddies”?: Sharing God’s message of love and salvation with children is the primary focus of Zion’s Bible Buddies program. The Bible verses learned at home are reinforced by the Bible stories taught during our Wednesday night meetings. We teach children the “Good News” that Jesus is their Savior, friend, and helper. A Bible Buddies Workbook is issued to each child for use during the “Bible Buddies” program, along with a personalized “Bible Buddies” Book Bag. Your child’s Bible will also fit into this bag (If needed a Bible can be donated). Using the Workbook, children learn Memory Verses, complete Activity Pages and Bonus Points Pages. Points are earned by completing those activities. The Points are redeemed for Rewards such as cans of pop, candy, toys and prizes. The goal is for each child to complete the workbook by the end of March to receive the special Bible Buddies Medal, which will be presented at the Closing Ceremony. Completion of the Workbook is optional, recognition will be given whether or not the Workbook is completed, so every child may proceed at a pace comfortable to him/her. During the Bible Buddies hour, children learn fun songs, hear about Bible characters and principles, play games, do crafts, pray for each other, earn points and receive rewards! There is no required cost to you for this program. A free-will offering is collected weekly. If you decide to include your child in Zion’s Bible Buddies program, please complete the Registration Form enclosed in this Visitor Packet and bring it to the next Bible Buddies meeting night.

During the opening each evening, we start off with songs and greetings!

Then everyone breaks off into groups to say the verses they learned and show activity pages they completed through the week to earn their points towards great prizes!

After verses, everyone gathers to play games and do activities. Here they are learning about cooperation in having to get the balloon to the end without it hitting the ground.

At the end of the evening we sing more songs, learn about another Bible buddy, Miriam (Moses' sister) in this case, and then close with prayer.
