Pastor: Rev. Thomas K. Schmitt

Pastor Schmitt hails from Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Valparaiso University in 1987 with a degree in Music before going to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He has served in various capacities at Immanuel Lutheran, Mount Olive, Illinois (field student), Mount Olive and St. Paul, Corning and Red Bluff, California (vicar) and St. Paul and St. Paul, Rugby and Willow City, North Dakota. Before coming to Nebraska, he had also served as Zone LWML Counselor, District LLL Advisor, Circuit Counselor and had coordinated Worship Workshops for the North Dakota District Board for Congregational Services. He has served Zion since June of 1997. His wife Mary graduated from Concordia College, Mequon, Wisconsin (now Concordia University Wisconsin) in 1988. They met at an LLL convention in Grand Rapids and were united in marriage in July 1997.

Andrea Roettger, DCE

DCE Andrea Roettger comes to Zion from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is a graduate of Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. She has served as a Director of Christian Education at Viera Lutheran Church in Viera, Florida (internship) and Lakeside Lutheran Church in Venice, Florida. When she is not occupied with the educational programs at Zion you might find her enjoying the outdoors (except during the winter, when she can be found day dreaming about the good ole’ days when the outdoors meant the beach).

Pat Huels is the person you will likely talk to first upon contacting our church. Full of energy and a great attitude she is a shining example of our congregation.

Organist

Lynne Eifert graduated from Valparaiso with an Organ Major and has served parishes in Nebraska and Michigan before coming to serve Zion in 1999. Lynne is a member of the American Guild of Organists. In addition to her day job, she also accompanies choirs around Omaha, including the German American Society's choir.
