Parenting Bible Study:

Meeting in the Fellowship Hall in the Basement, Pastor Schmitt is facilitating a discussion on family dynamics. This class will look at ways parents can bring up a Christian child in an increasingly non-Christian world, provide a forum for discussing issues parents face as they seek to raise Godly children.

Bringing the Christian Creeds to Life in Our Lives:

Join Bob Vandervort in the Lakeview Room, on the main floor, for a journey through the early Christian church, discovering the great heritage we share with Christians throughout the ages in our Creeds and how they impact our daily lives.

Small Group Bible Studies

Pericope Study:

Join Buck Wehrbein on Sunday nights at 6:30 PM to study the pericopes (also known as the Old Testament, Epistle, and New Testament lessons of the week.)

Men’s Early Morning Bible Study:

Join Bryan Stoltenberg on the 1st & 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30 AM for a study of the “Godly Man” Men in the Church.

Young Adults:

A group for those that are post high school - 35 ish. On Sunday December 18th they will be going to the movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe." In January they will be meeting to discuss this book/movie. Watch the bulletin for more information or call the church office.

Sunday School

Who: Children 3 years old through 8th grade.

Where: Education Wing in the basement.

When: Opening starts at 9:15, classes from 9:30-10:15.

Our Sunday School classes are led by enthusiastic volunteers and bring children the “Good News” through study of the Bible, crafts, games, singing and other engaging activities. The Sunday School children also sing once a month during the school year at the beginning of the 10:30 Worship Service.

Visitor’s and newcomers are always welcome!

Other Bible Studies and Classes

Weekday Bible Studies:

Home Bible Class. This class meets the 4th Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Remington Heights, 12606 West Dodge Road. Members who are willing to do so take turns leading the topic for the day. You are welcome to join us as we grow in faith and enjoy some very interesting discussions!

Pastor's Class

Zion's pastor leads a class for those who wish to join our congregation yet who have not been confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Classes are arranged to meet the schedules of participants. Check the calendar for times or contact the pastor if you are interested in taking the class.

Confirmation Class

Students in 6th -8th grades meet September through May on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 PM. In this three-year program, students study all six chief parts of Luther's Small Catechism, take a survey of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, and enjoy times of fun and fellowship together around the Word.
