"Noah's Great Adventure"

Our 2004 VBS took over 100 children on "Noah's Great Adventure," guided by the skipper of the greatest life-saving ship of all, Noah's Ark. When Noah (Pastor Schmitt), in his construction helmet, told of building the ark on Monday, there wasn’t a cloud to be seen. The second day, in safari gear, Noah told of God’s gathering of the animals as storm clouds mysteriously appeared. The third, Noah told of riding out the storm, his rain coat, hair and beard soaking wet as “rain” fell all around AND the water level outside the boat started rising. On Thursday, the rain had quit, the clouds were breaking up, but the water level was still very high as Noah told of drifting until the ark rested on Mount Ararat. Then, on Friday, a glorious rainbow arch of balloons greeted those who entered, and a 5-foot wide lighted sun shone over the balcony rail as Noah told of God’s promise never to use a flood to destroy the world, but to save the world through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. After all, what is a rainbow but the sun shining through drops of water? Doesn’t Jesus’ love come shining through the drops of water as a child is baptized? Certainly we can remember all of God’s promises and be certain that He will gather us and save us in our present-day ark of the church.

As with the previous 2 years enrollment was up from the year before. Kids and adults alike had a fantastic and we want to say:

"A Special Thanks To All Who Volunteered And Helped Out This Year!"

We couldn't have done it without you.
